Boxing Canada Announces 2026 Canada Cup and U17/U19/U23 National Championships in Calgary, Alberta

CALGARY, AB – Boxing Canada is proud to announce that the 2025 Canada Cup, in conjunction with the U17/U19/U23 National Championships, will take place March 18–22, 2026, at the Genesis Centre in Northeast Calgary, Alberta.

This national multi-day event will gather the country’s top high-performance boxers for a premier celebration of Olympic-style boxing. Competitors will face off in a high-stakes environment that promises excitement, national pride, and world-class talent.

“In just its third year, the Canada Cup is quickly establishing itself as the marquee event for Boxing Canada’s athletes and coaches,” said Christopher Lindsay, Executive Director of Boxing Canada. “Combining the event with the Junior and Youth National Championships makes perfect sense and helps foster the development of the next generation of champions from across the country.”

The 2026 event builds on the momentum of the inaugural Canada Cup held in 2024 and 2025 and reflects Boxing Canada’s long-term strategy to grow Olympic-style boxing through increased domestic competition opportunities. “Boxing, like many sports, faced major setbacks during the pandemic,” Lindsay added. “But the resilience and determination shown by our boxing community has been inspiring. This tournament not only showcases that spirit—it accelerates our athletes toward national and international success.”

With hundreds of athletes, coaches, officials, and fans expected to descend upon Calgary, the event will bring a significant economic boost to the region while highlighting the city’s hospitality and capacity for hosting major sporting events. “Calgary’s reputation as a world-class host is well known, and athletes are already eager to compete in this environment,” Lindsay said. “This tournament is more than just a competition—it’s a steppingstone. We believe many of the boxers competing at the Canada Cup in 2025 will go on to represent Canada at the 2028 and 2032 Olympic Games.”

Boxing Canada invites fans, media, and the broader sporting community to join in supporting the future of Canadian boxing at the Genesis Centre this March. More details regarding schedules, tickets, and registration will be released in the coming months
